With Oklahoma City winning on Sunday and LA and San Antonio both losing, suddenly the playoff picture for the former Sonics got a lot sunnier - and it made me wonder, does OKC's success still stick in the craw of Seattle's NBA fans?
I have to admit, watching Kevin Durant score 41 points while Russell Westbrook is throwing down fantabulous transition dunks, all while blue-clad natives jump out of their shoes is more than a little disconcerting. After all, OKC has had the team for a little more than a weekend and is already reaping the rewards of Seattle's horrible basketball.
In other words, we got the kid when he was throwing spaghetti onto the new carpet, and they've got him now that he's become a concert pianist. So, yeah, it bugs me a little bit.
So, the question is: Who you got in the playoffs this year? If I had to list the Seattle NBA Fan's favorite teams this post-season, I'd go with, in no particular order:
1. Whoever is playing OKC
2. Whoever is playing the Lakers
3. Denver
4. Whoever is playing the Heat
5. Boston
Not that I'm rooting for the Celtics, but I have a feeling the Ray Allen factor may contribute to some good feelings from Seattle towards Boston.

Oh, is there some sort of professional basketball league conducting their postseason? I wasn't aware since I took everyone's advice and moved on and I could not be happier! Yes, Dust Bowl psychiatric experts, you were right!
If I did care, 1 and 3. Since I don't care, Lockout and Bankruptcy.
Tough not to pull for George Karl and the Nuggets. Even if they weren't playing our cursed former team, I'd be pulling for George. GO, DENVER, GO!!!
Wait, I just had an Elway flashback. Feeling woozy, not sure of my place in the universe .......
Well, i HAVE moved on from wanting the original team. But that dosent mean i dont want a new team and arena. And someday, i expect one. I think eventually it is a given. The naysayers may be right it may take 10 years, but i still think an arena deal eventually gets done, if for no other reason than every major market has a top rate arena. And you`re right ryan. Go denver!
Denver both for George Karl and for the nature of the team, i.e., ditching the Melo-drama for a real team concept.
My 5 1/2 year old is going with the Thunder. "I'm rooting for them because they used to be our team." I can't find it in myself to squelch that innocence.
Definitely, Ray Allen and the Celtics are all I root for in the NBA.
