I was disappointed this trade didn't happen at the time, though I really liked Leonard Gray (RIP). In retrospect, the Sonics were better for not having made this trade. McAdoo never really fit in or won anythig in NY (or Boston, Detroit or NJ). All stops made before he joined the Lakers as a reserve in 1981-82. Thre rest is history.BobbyWilbury44http://threepointer67@hotmail.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7758702.post-65867736626888146572011-08-04T23:21:56.133-07:002011-08-04T23:21:56.133-07:00With No Marvin, definitely no NBA Finals in '7...With No Marvin, definitely no NBA Finals in '78....and with No L.Shelton and particularely,no Paul Silas, NO NBA World Championship in 1979!....McAdoo was one dimensional and Never again was the force he had been as a Buffalo Brave....The Sonics could have picked up McAdoo for free in March 1981 if we had been able to convince him to become a SuperSonic and NOT a NJ Net...Seriously,he was waived by Detroit on March 11,1981..and available to ANY team, because he had by then gained a very bad rep, unjust or not.....No way The Sonics win a World Title With McAdoo (and without Lonnie and Paul Silas)....Truth!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7758702.post-14724747573671962002011-08-03T12:56:19.636-07:002011-08-03T12:56:19.636-07:00Wow! Like when people talk about using time machines to transport teams from different eras so they can play other greats. Because that's TOTALLY what I would use a time machine for!chunkstyle23http://www.supersonicsoul.comnoreply@blogger.com
