Vladi looks for a rebound, while Reggie looks for some nuts to grab.
Maybe I'm the only one who cares about this sort of thing, but I was curious to see how the players Seattle traded during the season are doing in the playoffs. Here's a quick look:
1. Vladimir Radmanovic - 8.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 7-15 from 3-point range
Radman hasn't had a breakout series, only going for double figures once, and that was in the weekend's blowout win over the Nuggets. He's averaging 20 minutes a night, which is a respectable number, but I'm sure he'd love to be playing more.
2. Reggie Evans - 4.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg
Evans hasn't seen many minutes, either, even with Kenyon Martin on the DNP list. As the backup PF, Evans' rebounds have gone from 16 in the first two games to 6 in the last two.
3. Flip Murray - 8.3 ppg
Flip continues to struggle from long range (2 of 10), but his 19 points Sunday against the Wizards was the best game of any of the former Sonics. Flip's minutes have been strange, 30+ twice and fewer than 15 twice.
(Editor's note: It looks like Reggie is getting very busy in the playoffs! - Paul)
A lovely summary, Mr. Nuss, but how one can't include the now-infamous Kaman Ball Grab in a Playoff Report dedicated to Reggie Evans is beyond me...
ReplyDeleteBest quote from the whole situation is from Kaman, "I've never experienced that, not even in a dirty three-on-three tournament."
Which begs the question, what HAS Kaman experienced in these dirty three-on-three tournaments, and can I watch said tourneys on YouTube??
Ah, dedicated Clipper fan, it must be painful for you to walk around after you sprained your ankle jumping onto the LAC bandwagon. In all honesty, is anyone else surprised by anything Kaman does? I think Jack Haley must be his personal advisor.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing stranger is me rooting for Kobe to beat someone. That's how much I despise the Suns/Nash.
Normally I would never defend Kaman, but Reggie grabbed his boys hard (see video on post). Youch!
ReplyDeleteCan we start calling Reggie "The Squirrel" now?
ReplyDeleteEvans is one crazy guy. Anyone else remember the hand gestures he had during the playoffs last season? I think he's in a one-man gang.
ReplyDeleteChris "Hulk Hogan, Jr." Kaman is the fucking man. His hair, without a shadow of a doubt, is the breakout star of the '06 NBA Playoffs.
ReplyDeleteReggie is now the Cookie Monster.
ReplyDeleteFYI, Reggie's been fined $10K for his actions, or $5,000 per testicle. According to the NBA, it was "unnecessary and excessive contact."
ReplyDeleteWell, one thing is for sure.., he did get his hand caught IN the cookie jar.

As they say, imitation is the best form of flattery. Don't sweat the imitation.
ReplyDeleteHey, Paul, maybe we can franchise this thing and just roll in the profits from all the fees from France, Italy, Argentina, Canada, ...?
Speaking of French Sonics, how is Gelabale doing in the Euro playoffs? Has he gotten more time recently, or is he still only playing 10 minutes a game?
ReplyDeleteYou should be very proud of Boris Diaw after the way he's played in the playoffs. The commentators last night couldn't stop talking about how great he was playing against the Lakers. Doug Collins (former coach, now TNT commentator) said that if Diaw can learn to hit a 15-foot jump shot he'll be an All Star.
