Danny Westneat feels the pain of Sonic fans who are watching this Bataan death march of a season, including the pain of someone named Rafael Calonzo.
What's that? Supersonicsoul.com's RC was in the paper and we're now more than 24 hours late in reporting it?
Hey, at SSS, we are nothing if not inefficient. And kudos to Westneat for describing the scene at KeyArena as "adults watching other adults listlessly engaged in bizutainment."
The NBA, it's, well, "bizutainment."
I don't know who this "Rafael Calonzo" fellow is, but he sounds brilliant and articulate. Not to mention good-looking.
ReplyDeleteDon't believe everything you read.
ReplyDeleteIt felt like a hospital waiting room when you know the patient is terminal. You sit there hushed. Not much to do but figure out how to say goodbye.
ReplyDeletePegged it.
Eh... I still see it as a divorce. Team isn't dieing folks, it's move on with out us. And although all divorce are said to feel like death (at least the death of the relationship) pro basketball and Seattle aren't dead. That said I'll be in Seattle for the final home game, perhaps SSS and Sonicscentral should throw a huge wake (party) in memory of the Sonics after the final home game this season.
ReplyDeleteAny thoughts?
Dammit, now TrueHoop quoted the part of the article featuring me being sad. I can't wait for all the Oklahoma trolls to add their typical "boo hoo, typical crybaby suicidal Seattlite" comments.
ReplyDeleteReally, I'm not that despondent. I'm one of the stupid people who thinks there's still a chance to keep the team.
Somewhere, an Oklahoma City news team is cueing up a Pearl Jam song to play over Sonic highlights.
ReplyDeleteBecause, you know, all we listen to is grunge. And drink coffee. And wear flannel. And work for Microsoft.
