Quick Hits

A quick review of what city various websites are associating with the Sonics as of July 7, 2008:

ESPN: Seattle
SI: Seattle
HoopsHype: Seattle
NBA.com: Seattle
Yahoo: Seattle

And, finally, please be sure to finish chewing your food before reading this story, because it’ll be tough to swallow. I’ve never been divorced, but I’m guessing that this is the equivalent of seeing your wife riding around in a Jaguar XJS while you’re at home washing the Dodge Stratus.

  1. And so it begins

Might want to finish swallowing your food before reading this, which was in the "Top Ten Most Popular" on summer league article page

The logo can be seen on that page in all its glory. Also, the summer league games are live on the Internet.

  6. OK, that's enough about the dog tapes. Honestly, I think you can find stuff like that in any newspaper in any state - idiocy and bizarre sexual urges are not unique to any locale.

I made the point about the article not out of malice to OKC, but out of sadness to the first tangible reference to the elimination of the Seattle Sonics from the NBA. And, honestly, if you want to have a hate-fest with someone, I think that anger is better directed at David Stern more than anyone else.

  7. My bad

But probably points to a fitting end for this screen name, and my very limited contribution to this board.

Westbrook had 18 today. Trying not to care.

  8. Yeah, that kind of crazy stuff can go down anywhere. Hell, Washington had the guy in Enumclaw who died from letting some horse plow him in the backdoor.

  9. How about the OKC Dog Fuckers?

  10. No, it's the OKC Potatoes. It's over OKC -- accept the name and move on.

  11. Thank goodness we can count on the upstanding folks of the OKC to be up early, policing the ex-Sonics blogs and keeping us whiny, foul-mouthed babies in our place. Whatever would we do without them?

  12. Potatoes are not a big product of Oklahoma. How about Rustlers?

  13. I prefer "Pig-Fuckers" over the dogs, goats & horses.

  14. Well, you know, a "Sooner" is technically a cheater and a thief...
"Sooners were often deputy marshals, land surveyors, railroad employees, and others who were able to legally enter the territory early to mark out choice pieces of land for themselves or others. Some sooners crossed into the territory illegally at night and were originally called "moonshiners" because they entered "by the light of the moon." These sooners would hide in ditches at night and suddenly appear to stake their claim after the land run started, hours ahead of legal settlers." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sooners) The "Boomers" sued them for lands that had been set aside for Native Americans, (they left on time, and found that the sooners had beat them to it.) So, it was two groups of thieves fighting over stolen property. Hmmmm....does anyone else see a common theme here? Can't they just BE the "OKC Thieves," or is that too literal for the NBA?

How's that for "whiny-assed" you cowardly red necked clay-eaters who are "Anonymous" all the time?

  15. Isn't that cute, a Sonic fan who's upset that Okies will be eating clay while watching the team they lost pretending to be a Donna.

BTW, how's this for anonymous whiny ass...

Seems to be something missing, huh?

  16. Anon,

I don't have to "pretend" anything.

And unless you're Mr. Bennet, which I doubt, or another investor in his scheme, which I also doubt, you actually have nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that OKC will now have an NBA team in their city for a little while.

    So...who's the "pretender?"

  17. I still don't get why these people come on hear and gloat, tell us to stop whining, etc. WTF. Who are you? And what kind of heartless and even moreso, GUTLESS people do you breed over there? My son loved the sonics, he's only 9 years old. so you're basically telling my son to quit crying about a team he loved to watch and be a part of his community? What kind of person does that?

To all the true sonics fans on this site, ignore these people.

  18. oh and before any idiot tries to use grammar as their means of rebuttal, i meant to use the word "here" rather than hear.
