His Name is Earl

Are the Sonics so desperate for a decent ball-handler that they would offer up three of their players for an over-priced backup point-guard? Answer: Yes!

  1. Someone at Sonics central made the point that with this trade, we're pretty much stuck with two small PGs for the foreseeable future. Just something to think about. That said, I like the deal as long as we don't throw Reggie in. They wouldn't be stupid enough to trade one of the best rebounders in the league for a backup pg would they? ...

  2. Also, getting rid of Vitaly would be great IMO, we need to start giving Petro time. We aren't gonna be any worse without the Potato, but we could be significantly better if Johan develops a bit.

  3. Isn't Flip + Potato enough to get Watson? But why would the Nuggets even be interested in Flip? They already have three wingmen and one of them's not even getting any minutes. Flip can't reliably play the point either.

Sure, talent-wise, I don't see a problem with Flip + Potato = Watson but I just don't see the Nuggets needing these two particular players or anyone else on the roster unless he's named Allen, Lewis, Evans, or Collison.

  4. I guess my only confusion is why the Nuggets would want the Potato. I was one of his biggest supporters before the season, and even during the beginning month of the season, but the guy has been extremely disappointing.

Put it this way, if the Sonics - whose options at center are a 2nd-year power forward, a Frenchman who isn't legally entitled to drink, and a 7-footer who couldn't post up my mailman - are willing to let Potato go, why the heck would any other team want him? Is there something in the Denver air that enables Ukrainians to regain their strength? It just doesn't make any sense.

  5. I'd hate to see Seattle give up Reggie in this deal.

  6. Time to fire the coach, let Ray take the year off and develop the others. Ban the 3 pointer for the rest of the season and administer one lash for every no-name undrafted 12th-man white guy that strolls into the lane for a layup against us. Problem solved by next season.

  9. "Lord, I have a problem!"
    "What's the problem, Eve?"
"Lord, I know you've created me and have provided this beautiful garden and all of these wonderful animals and that hilarious comedy snake, but I'm just not happy."
"Why is that, Eve?" came the reply from above.
"Lord, I am lonely. And I'm sick to death of apples." "Well, Eve, in that case, I have a solution. I shall create a man for you."
    "What's a 'man,' Lord?"
"This man will be a flawed creature, with aggressive tendencies, an enormous ego and an inability to empathize or listen to you properly, he'll basically give you a hard time. He'll be bigger, faster, and more muscular than you. He'll be really good at fighting and kicking a ball about and hunting fleet-footed ruminants, But, he'll be pretty good in the sack."
"I can put up with that," says Eve, with an ironically raised eyebrow.
"Yeah well, he's better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick. But, there is one condition."
    "What's that, Lord?"
"You'll have to let him believe that I made him first."
    :D :D :D
