We are happy to announce that we have entered into a binding agreement
with the Maloofs to purchase a controlling interest in the Sacramento
Kings NBA franchise. The sale is obviously subject to approval by the
NBA Board of Governors, and we look forward to working with the League
in the coming months to consummate the transaction.
Let the intercity sniping begin.
PLEASE PLEASE KEEP THE KINGS COLORS THERE BETTER THAN GREEN AN YELLOW....THE KINGS COLORS ARE MORE VIBRANT..AND STAND OUT
ReplyDeleteThe best place for the Kings colors are in Sacramento, which is, coincidentally, also the best place for the Kings.
ReplyDeleteSeattle fans need this to wash away the stink of the NFL playoffs.
ReplyDeleteYeah, because Sacramento's NFL season was so much easier to swallow this year.
ReplyDeleteit's really sad for sacramento but, as a die-hard sonics fan, i will be really happy if the sonics come back. it would have been better for everybody if the sonics had never left and if kevin durant were still playing in yellow green, but that's life.
ReplyDeleteHope that the thunder.Let us have our history back. Like the 79 championship banner back. With our colors. Since they own it when they purchased our team.
ReplyDeleteIn theory, the history would be "shared," but I doubt that OKC would be interested in that arrangement. I believe the banners, trophies, etc. are all still in Seattle, but I could be wrong. I am curious to see how a site such as basketball-reference.com would handle the situation. Best case scenario would be the Sonic statistical record being conveyed to a new Seattle team, while Sacramento/Kansas City/Omaha/Cincinnati/So Forth would sort of be held in purgatory until if/when they get a new team. I think I speak for everyone when I say that Seattle is not interested in seeing Vlade Divac, Mitch Richmond or anyone else from the Kings' history being part of any new franchise in Seattle.
