I was looking at our blazin' traffic stats and I stumbled upon
the "referrers" report. Out of curiosity, I clicked on one of them
... and followed the thread.
At first, I was appalled that anyone would dare diss the un-touchable
Mr. Cleveland. That feeling soon gave way to jealousy. For what is
more legitimizing for a pundit than having some genuine haters?
I can only hope that one day, I'll have complete strangers standing
courageously behind the shroud of Internet anonymity, calling ME a
dumbass. A guy can dream, can't he?

In the interest of brevity, let me just say this about the negative comments ... why? Correct me if I’m wrong, but Sonic fans in Seattle – or anywhere, for that matter – are about as plentiful as George Bush fans at a Phish concert. Considering we all want the same thing, wouldn’t it make more sense to worry about your own thing rather than bitching about someone else’s? And, yes, I am quite familiar with the First Amendment, thank you, and am well aware of your right to expression, so save it.
Back to the reason for this site – Sonic news. It appears that Ray Allen wants him some of that Kobe money. Frank Hughes even rehashes the game Paul brought up weeks ago, when Allen and Bryant swapped dunks and jumpers like Olympic pin collectors. Still, one great game doth not a great player make (or have we all forgotten Rashard Lewis going for 50 when he was hopped up on sushi last October?).
The Sonics are in a difficult spot; if they keep Allen, they are hamstrung to his contract for another six or seven years, which means that Rashard Lewis has to develop or else. In all honesty, I think the Sonics are better off sending Allen away in a sign-and-trade, getting some picks and cap space, and waiting for a superstar big man to come along.
