His Name is Earl

Are the Sonics so desperate for a decent ball-handler that they would offer up three of their players for an over-priced backup point-guard? Answer: Yes!

Make the freakin deal already.

Both sides want to get this done, so let's get it done!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem isn't the "both sides," it's the necessary third side that currently doesn't exist that has to want to get this deal done. Another team is going to have to get a piece of this action if a trade for Watson is going to happen. Any ideas of who that may be?

We don't need a third team. Why is this so hard to figure out???

Danny and Flip for Earl and a scrub.

Damien and Flip for Earl and an Ok wing like D. Johnson or Buckner.

Moore and Flip and Vlade for Earl and whatever. It is not that hard!

It is the GM's job to put together a deal that works. Just writing off a Denver - Seattle trade because it is a little complicated is lame.

BTW, with the new CBA it is now easier to make a deal than before. The salaries only have to be with in 25% of each other, not 20% like with the old CBA.

What's really lame about this situation is that the Sonics should have just signed Watson this summer. Brunson sure looks great sitting on the bench. Too bad the Sonics can't admit their mistake and just cut the guy.

What about V-Pot's $3 million, Flips $.8 million, and Brunson's $1.2 million? We keep Reggie and Mateen who we all love, we give up Flip who we hate, V-Pot who we are beginning to hate, and Brunson who's foot we hate. We get a secure backcourt forever. Luke, Ray bring the O, Wilkens and Watson bring the D. Sounds good. I really don't care how much it costs the Starbucks man. Talent-wise its greeeat. Plus we "get" to develop Petro as a result.

Someone at Sonics central made the point that with this trade, we're pretty much stuck with two small PGs for the foreseeable future. Just something to think about. That said, I like the deal as long as we don't throw Reggie in. They wouldn't be stupid enough to trade one of the best rebounders in the league for a backup pg would they? ...

Also, getting rid of Vitaly would be great IMO, we need to start giving Petro time. We aren't gonna be any worse without the Potato, but we could be significantly better if Johan develops a bit.

Hell yeah, Petro isn't even bad. He just blends in, sometimes making "rookie mistakes" other times doing great things. He is gonna be a shot blocker, hes already shown he can do it. I'd do the trade of Flip, Potato, and Brunson for Watson in a second. The contract aint THAT bad, and in the NBA, no player is untradable. Especially a point guard. Also size is only an issue at poing if it means a disadvantage on defense (Luke), but Watson is a great defender, so it shouldn't be an issue.

I just have to ask this: Why would Denver do this deal? Is Watson being a bitch in the locker room? That's the only thing I can think of. Why would a team that has too many PG's trade one decent PG for one subpar PG (flip), one bad PG (Brunson), and one subpar big man (Potato)? I guess it would save Denver money in the long run, but that's about it.

They're desperate, but it sounds like Wilkins is gonna be the man now.

Isn't Flip + Potato enough to get Watson? But why would the Nuggets even be interested in Flip? They already have three wingmen and one of them's not even getting any minutes. Flip can't reliably play the point either.

Sure, talent-wise, I don't see a problem with Flip + Potato = Watson but I just don't see the Nuggets needing these two particular players or anyone else on the roster unless he's named Allen, Lewis, Evans, or Collison.

They want a shooting guard who can score. Thats why they want Flip. With Camby, Nene, and possibly KMart out, Potato could help em.

I guess my only confusion is why the Nuggets would want the Potato. I was one of his biggest supporters before the season, and even during the beginning month of the season, but the guy has been extremely disappointing.

Put it this way, if the Sonics - whose options at center are a 2nd-year power forward, a Frenchman who isn't legally entitled to drink, and a 7-footer who couldn't post up my mailman - are willing to let Potato go, why the heck would any other team want him? Is there something in the Denver air that enables Ukrainians to regain their strength? It just doesn't make any sense.

I'd hate to see Seattle give up Reggie in this deal.

If its (Potato or Moore)+Murray (+
Brunson)=Watson, I'M fine with it.Though it seems Wilkins is doing a nice job with a smaller contract.
And we can sign Scales and/or Simmons!

To be honest, I see the biggest problem is the Coach. Its time to fire Bob.
I like that Musselman guy someone mentioned, Paul Silas isn't too bad, and how about Stan VG? I hope its not Sikma, not because he can't do it, but we have already moved a Cameraman to the Coaching staff, who's next, maybe Leah?
AND, I think Casey might be available and the end of the season. just a thought

Time to fire the coach, let Ray take the year off and develop the others. Ban the 3 pointer for the rest of the season and administer one lash for every no-name undrafted 12th-man white guy that strolls into the lane for a layup against us. Problem solved by next season.

"Lord, I have a problem!"
"What's the problem, Eve?"
"Lord, I know you've created me and have provided this beautiful garden and all of these wonderful animals and that hilarious comedy snake, but I'm just not happy."
"Why is that, Eve?" came the reply from above.
"Lord, I am lonely. And I'm sick to death of apples." "Well, Eve, in that case, I have a solution. I shall create a man for you."
"What's a 'man,' Lord?"
"This man will be a flawed creature, with aggressive tendencies, an enormous ego and an inability to empathize or listen to you properly, he'll basically give you a hard time. He'll be bigger, faster, and more muscular than you. He'll be really good at fighting and kicking a ball about and hunting fleet-footed ruminants, But, he'll be pretty good in the sack."
"I can put up with that," says Eve, with an ironically raised eyebrow.
"Yeah well, he's better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick. But, there is one condition."
"What's that, Lord?"
"You'll have to let him believe that I made him first."
:D :D :D
