Game Day: Warriors

The Sonics take on another team in a bit of a slide this afternoon: The Warriors. G-State has dropped five in a row in the New Year, pulling them down out of the playoff race into 10th place (welcome to the club, fellas).

Anyway, the Sonics stand a chance for a victory this afternoon, but I'm not laying any money on it.

With 5 minutes left in the 1Q, it's Mike Dunleavy 9 - Sonics 9. That can't be good.

I just noticed the score update on Yahoo, GS 20, Sea 9....and I realized that sometimes I'm pretty glad I don't have cable and can't watch hardly any of these games....I may become suicidal with 30 odd straight days of rain and now the sonics getting blown out by Golden State....GOLDEN STATE!!?!

After that lousy start, the Sonics have started to come back, no thanks to Radmanovic.

I should have known that after scoring in double figures for 3 consecutive games, Radman was due to go <10 in 3 straight. It only makes sense.

It's the 4Q, and Mikael Pietrus is outscoring Rashard Lewis.

No more need besaid.

On a brighter note, how 'bout that Robert Swift! 12 pts, 7 boards, 2 blocks in 21 minutes. I can't wait until he goes for 4 points and 3 boards in the next game!

Hooray!!! It sounds like the Vlade experiment may be over. Hill alluded (in postgame) to Nick and Robert moving into the starting lineup for the Raptors game.

Or anyone to replace flip... I'd rather Ehlo playing for us right now than flip

Ehlo is a better Sonics commentator than he was a Sonics player... 'nuf said.

Jason Terry is not a third guard, but rather a starting point guard. If Terry is signed by Seattle Supersonics GM Rick Sund during this upcoming off-season, then Luke Ridnour would be regulated to the bench.

As it is, though, Terry isn't a top-notch defensive player; I still think that the 'sonics should attempt to acquire point guard Earl Watson.

Anyhow, the following is a trade proposal that involves the Atlanta Hawks, the Denver Nuggets, the Indiana Pacers, and, of course, the Seattle Supersonics:

From Atlanta:
SF Al Harrington
PG Tony Delk

From Denver:
SG Voshon Lenard
PG Earl Watson
C Xue Yuyang (Draft Rights)
PF Axel Hervelle (Draft Rights)
SF Ricky Sanchez (Draft Rights)
SG Sani Becirovic (Draft Rights)
2007 First-Round Draft Pick [Via Dallas Thru Golden State]

From Indiana:
C Scot Pollard
SF Ron Artest
PF Erazem Lorbek (Draft Rights)
2008 Second-Round Draft Pick [Via Phoenix]

From Seattle:
C Vitaly Potapenko
C Mikki Moore
PF Danny Fortson
PG Rick Brunson
PF Peter Fehse (Draft Rights)
SF Mickaël Gelabale (Draft Rights)
PG Paccelis Morlende (Draft Rights)
2006 Second-Round Draft Pick
2006 Second-Round Draft Pick [Via Memphis]
2007 Second-Round Draft Pick
2007 Second-Round Draft Pick [Via Memphis]

To Atlanta:
C Scot Pollard
C Mikki Moore
PG Rick Brunson
C Xue Yuyang (Draft Rights)
PF Peter Fehse (Draft Rights)
PF Axel Hervelle (Draft Rights)
PF Erazem Lorbek (Draft Rights)
SF Ricky Sanchez (Draft Rights)
SF Mickaël Gelabale (Draft Rights)
SG Sani Becirovic (Draft Rights)
PG Paccelis Morlende (Draft Rights)
2006 Second-Round Draft Pick [From Seattle]
2006 Second-Round Draft Pick [From Seattle Via Memphis]
2007 First-Round Draft Pick [From Denver Via Dallas Thru Golden State]
2007 Second-Round Draft Pick [From Seattle]
2007 Second-Round Draft Pick [From Seattle Via Memphis]
2008 Second-Round Draft Pick [From Indiana Via Phoenix]

To Denver:

SF Ron Artest

To Indiana:

To Seattle:

P.S.: Craig Ehlo is, undeniably, an awful announcer.

Does anyone have an explanation for why the Sonics are getting outrebounded on a regular basis? I felt like last year our rebounding made up for some of our bad D and now we get out rebounded by the Clippers and the Warriors. Maybe I should just stop thinking about last year. Its a cruel form of self torture.

AK, Can I have some of that crack you've been smoking, because its pretty obvious that it is some good stuff. Why on Earth would the Atlanta Hawks give up Al Harrington for a shitload for second round draft picks and nobodies? Also, Denver would get Ron Artest for (basically) Vashon and Earl Watson? I love that you piled on, like, 20 draft picks to make the math work out...

Nice try.

I think when AK types out the names of second round picks, it gives him a woody.

We are getting out-rebounded because Bob Hill doesn't focus on hitting the glass, but rather getting back on defense and offense within the transition game. All in all, it is an unproductive way to play basketball.

Anonymous, you've got to get a name. Your take on AK and the 2nd round picks made my sides split. Sorry, AK, but I'm sure even you had to laugh a little at his joke.

AK,

For all of the crap I gave you about the trade, I have to give you props on Ehlo. He sucks harder than a Dyson...

Thanks Q.

As it was, though, I figured that someone had to say it. Hell, I miss Marques Johnson.
