SUPERSONICSOUL: The Art Show

Alt title: 206 and Heartsick

Chunkstyle here. Since a lot of what we do on this blog is relive the glory days, how appropriate that I've been asked to do an art show next month at Throwbacks NW—a dope retro jersey store on Capitol Hill.

I’m calling the show “SUPERSONICSOUL: Home Teams and Heartache.” It will naturally have a local sports flavor to it, featuring luscious giclĂ©e prints of the illustrations I did for this fine blog, and possibly some other new works. The opening is Thursday, November 11, with a reception from 5-10 pm.

You should come through--I’ll be selling prints, a DJ will be spinning, refreshments will be served (I think), you can buy some old-school Starter jackets or retro snapback hats. Don’t have to RSVP or nothing, just show up if you can, or come another day, the art will be up for a month. Thanks!

The Great Depression

Even mighty vikings can cryI try not to take sports too personally. It's not a healthy way to live. Why invest emotionally in something that A) is bound to disappoint and B) has no emotional investment in you?

And yet, I continue on, like some kind of battered house wife who repeats over and over again "He's a good man!".

After 11 eleven losses in a row, the Sonics are almost assured of finishing with the worst record in franchise history. With the league in cahoots with Bennett to steal the team away, what's a Sonics fan to do? Pray for a post-Easter miracle? Be content with re-watching tapes of the 1996 playoffs?

(To top things off, my fantasy basketball league team didn't even make the consolation bracket this year--and it's MY league!)

How are you dealing with this Super sub-Sonic season? Watching other teams? Getting outside more? Booze? Supersonicsoul wants to know . . . and know quick, before we jump into the Sound.
